NORTH QUEENS LAND. FINAL DAY!

So the final day of our holiday... Started nice and early again with an 8.30 start leaving Port Douglas around 10.30. From Port Douglas we travelled to the Daintree Nature Reserve which was really cool, Nice pretty walks and rivers. Not exactly my cup of tea. But after an exhausting walk Matt and i decided to go for a swim. The river was quite beautiful. There were massive rocks everywhere, rock hopping and swimming provided a good distraction as our hours left in North Queensland evaporated. We finally left that nature reserve, probably wouldnt go there again, i was pretty natured out after seeing Kotara a couple of days before, but its nice to know that rain forests like this still exist. So we travelled back to Cains where we walked through the Botanical Gardens which were also pretty but quite boring so i didn't take any photo's there either. finally we went to macca's to get free internet which was the slowest thing i have ever experienced, it was ridiculous. We then dropped off the car and went to the airport, had a feed and bailed back home through an epic storm. Sydney greeted us with a nice 16 Degree Celsius night in which we travelled home arriving at 3 am, just enough sleep so i could get to work the next day. Yipppeeee.

PORT DOUGLAS, GREAT BARRIER REEF!

So we woke up bright and early and ventured through the streets of Port Douglas to get to the marina, where we boarded the Aristocat and ventured out into the deep blue. On our journey we made the most of the free cakes and coffee's and even decided to hire an underwater camera. We went to three different reefs, all of which were quite unique in their own way. The last reef was probably my favourite. Matt and i found a deep rock shelf and decided to swim under it and through to the other side. Big thankyou's to the large man and his wife for occupying literally 3 spots on the boat, that girl at the last reef with massive boobs that bobbed up and down as she swam past, and last but not least Dad for paying. Here are some of the 300 photo's i took, hope you enjoy them.

HARTLEYS CROCODILE FARM AND PORT DOUGLAS.

Our last minutes staying in sunny Cairns ticked away and we headed up the coast towards the town of Port Douglas, pretty much the Byron Bay of Queensland. Its super chill and has some spectacular views from the beach. My camera gained a dust spot so i have random black spots in my photo's but oh well, you get the idea. On the way to Port Douglas we had some time to kill, and to our luck we encountered Hartley's Crocodile farm. We walked in and just got the end of the Saltwater croc show. Those things grow so big and are so sneaky. As you can see from the photo's they can jump super far out of the water, usually to grap snakes and birds out of tree's. We then moved over to a freshwater crocodile demonstration which weren't as big, but had much sharper teeth, The guy running the show actually jumped in with the crocodiles! Within about ten minutes they all surrounded him and he had to make a sweet escape. Later in the afternoon we did a croc tour in some little boat and went out in a small river system and fed the crocodiles, i didn't have a good zoom lens when taking these photo's they were actually that close. After that we watched a reptile show and some crocodile attack show which were pretty crazy, the guy almost had his foot bitten off haha. After that we continued the rest of our journey reaching our destination. We went for a walk and watched the sun set and finished the day drinking Corona's like kings.
